BOOK NUMBER: 77
SUBJECT MATTER: Mexican Immigration, Youth non-fiction
TITLE: Mexican Immigrants in America-An interactive History Adventure
AUTHOR: Rachel Hanel
PUBLISHER: Capstone Press
COPYRIGHT: 2009, 112 pages
Essentially a how-to-book for people who wish to ignore the rules to come into the USA. Utterly sympathetic to the immigrants from Mexico in this case, with no hint of empathy for American black, brown, red, yellow, white whose wages are depressed because of this segment of the population. No mention of the tensions created by this population as they choose to not particularly become a part of America such as it is. Astonishing that a book of this kind would be pitched to youth with no other side of the story.
While the book is very enjoyable in the set up-you get to choose what happens in the stories, and presentation, the tone of this book is unreal.
Read it and see what you think.
