¡BIENVENIDOS!WELCOME TO BOOKBLIPS!

BOOK NUMBER 28
SUBJECT MATTER: Horror Films, Television
TITLE: The Lurker in the Lobby
AUTHORS: Andrew Migliore, John Strysik
PUBLISHER: Armitage House
COPYRIGHT: 2000, 198 pages

A really fun book for fans of H.P.Lovecraft and horror tales presented in cinema form. This book gives good descriptions of movies based on Mr. Lovecrafts works (some more true to the tale than others) including "In The Mouth of Madness" "Re-Animator" and "The Dunwich Horror", and talks about the good, bad, and ugly of these works.
The book includes lots of black and white photos from the films, interviews with directors like Roger Corman and John Carpenter. Also contains an interview with the actor Jeffrey Combs ("Re-Animator", "Castle Freak", etc.) and composer Richard Band.
A must read for horror fans.

BOOK NUMBER 27
SUBJECT MATTER: Current Affairs
TITLE: Debunking 9/11 Debunking. An Answer to POPULAR MECHANICS and Other Defenders of the Official Conspiracy Theory
AUTHOR: David Ray Griffin
PUBLISHER: Olive Branch Press
COPYRIGHT: 2007, 392 pages (revised & updated edition)

The author presents facts designed to debunk those who have made it their task to discredit any evidence or opinion or theories that run counter to the official story of the September 11, 2001 New York City, USA attacks.
Too many distortions and questions for him; and he takes the time to present evidence that paints a completely picture of the horrific event.
A provocative and intriguing read.

SUBJECT MATTER: African-Americans, Radio&Television, Broadcasting
TITLE: I See Black People-The Rise and Fall of African-American-Owned Television and Radio
AUTHOR: Kristal Brent Zook
PUBLISHER: Nation Books
COPYRIGHT: 2008, 200 pages

A swell book consisting of interviews with some of the few African-American people involved in the business of owning, managing, buying, and running radio stations in America.
They discuss their beginnings, their challenges in the business, and the current status of the industry where only 3% of broadcast media is controlled by people of color. You can read this informative book in a few hours. Only thing missing: some pictures would have made this tome even better.
